What Are Some Types Of Drug Crimes?

Attorney Eric T. Kirk will tell you.

Possession, Possession with Intent, Manufacturing and Distribution.

Transcript

Maryland law labels drugs “controlled and dangerous substances”, or sometimes abbreviated CDS. There are really four types of drug crimes that you typically see prosecuted in Maryland. There’s simple possession, and that is having drugs on your person, in your home or in your car, in such a manner that you can be said to have exercised dominion or control, and therefore, possessed that item. Maryland law also punishes the distribution or selling of drugs, and certainly, also their making or their manufacture, as the word used under the law. There’s also a different variety of possession called possession with intent. That’s possession of an amount of a controlled and dangerous substance that it’s clear the individual doesn’t intend to use those drugs for personal purposes, but rather, intends to distribute them to others.

I hope this addressed your question. Over the course of 25 years, I’ve found that fully addressing a legal question is best handled in a one-on-one, in person strategy and case analysis conference. I offer these to potential clients on a complimentary basis. Please use any of the methods under the contact tab at the top of the page to arrange yours.
